The ROTHBURY Think Tank will host a mix of provocative keynote presentations, panel discussions, workshops, film screenings, and audience Q&A sessions throughout the festival site to offer insight into these and other questions. Interactive participation, both face-to-face and through the use of multi-media technology enable the ROTHBURY community to engage with the Think Tank at multiple levels.

"The genius of the United States is not best of most in its executives or legislatures, nor in its ambassadors or authors or colleges, or churches, or parlors, nor even in its newspapers or inventors, but always most in the common people" ~ Walt Witman

eTOWN AT ROTHBURY

etown, the nationally syndicated radio program bringing live music and information about our communities and the environment to the airwaves since 1991, will kick-off ROTHBURY’s Think Tank at the festival.

etown at ROTHBURY will follow the show's traditional radio format, which has deftly married music and messages for over 17 years. Happening Friday and Saturday in The Establishment, etown hosts and executive producers Nick and Helen Forster will lead engaging conversations with environmental experts and luminaries including Dr. Stephen Schneider, Winona LaDuke, and David Gershon, and will host intimate musical performances by ROTHBURY artists Michael Franti, Citizen Cope, Sam Beam (of Iron and Wine) and others.

After ROTHBURY, tune in to over 240 radio stations across the U.S, or to XM Radio, to hear the etown at ROTHBURY shows in their entirety!

Brain Candy

The nation that put a man on the moon can and will lead the world into the post-carbon age.

On our country's birthday weekend, ROTHBURY brings together the innovators, entrepreneurs, thought leaders, celebs, and rabble rousers who are bringing this future into focus. They'll share their strategies and successes, and offer practical ideas and inspiration. It's time to have fun, talk solutions, and start working towards a fossil-free America.

It's time for a New Independence Day.

The ROTHBURY Think Tank is an event within the event, offering various buzz sessions and roundtables between leading scientists, scholars, writers, progressive political and corporate leaders, youth leaders, entertainers, and...you.

The ROTHBURY community will huddle in intimate settings, engage in exciting discussions via closed circuit TV and radio, and powwow in informal gathering spaces throughout the weekend.

The Think Tank will address the topic of Finding Energy Independence. Conversations will be geared toward solutions for corporations, individuals and government. Think Tank events will share ideas about how to lessen our ecological and carbon footprint.

The goal: to educate and empower people through an open dialogue regarding solutions to climate change and sustainable clean energy needs, and to engage the live music community in this social movement. As a community, and as individuals, we will ask ourselves: As this election year unfolds, what will we demand of our elected leaders? What changes can we, as individuals, make in our lives that will make a difference? Which businesses are doing their part through sustainable operations, products, and services?
